Brian Christopher Glaser is an interdisciplinary artist who lives and woks in Boston, Massachusetts. His recent work in sculpture and collage distorts images of idealized bodies, examining the confusion of physical and virtual selfhood, fantasy and reality that pervades visual popular culture. By queering these highly coded images, he makes work that converges on the concepts of longing, distance and the destructive impulse.
Brian holds a BFA in Studio Art from Tulane University and an MFA in Sculpture from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design. He is the Managing Editor of Big Red & Shiny—a nonprofit arts organization and online art journal based in Boston that strives to create a living document of fine arts practices in New England through coverage and criticism. Brian is also currently an Instructional Media Specialist in Sculpture and Digital Media as well as an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Massachusetts Boston.
